All blue bags are transferred to the MRF where the bags are opened, and recyclables are recovered through both manual and mechanical sorting processes. The recovered materials are sold and ultimately recycled into new materials and products. Materials include: many types of plastics, metals, electronic waste, Styrofoam, milk cartons, newsprint and cardboard. 

In 2019 we recycled over 12,700 tonnes of materials.
